CH1 Unfair

I was never very popular , my parents are omegas one of the lowest ranks in the pack. but we are happy, I admire my parents they loved each other so much, my father was 6'3 tan skin and dark hair and eyes to match my mother was 5'4 blond hair blue eyes fair skin, they were an odd looking couple but then again you don't chose who you love the goddess decides. We lives in one of the houses behind the pack house among the other lower ranking wolves, my father was a farm worker, my mom a nurse they both loved what they did never once complaining.

I work with my father on the packs farm most days , but sometimes i get called to other jobs since I was under the age of 18 I didn't have a perminate job just side ones while the pack allowed me to get an education. I preferred the farm but the pack didn't really care what you liked . they also didn't bother training us omegas to fight , most thought we weren't worth it since we are looked at as weak and brittle. but my father disagreed with this making sure I could defend myself, even after a long day of work he trained with me for at least an hour a day, I didn't know if I was good or not since I only fought him and I never won once.

He also taught me to hunt and survive in the wild, while my mom taught me medical stuff , she didn't like the idea of me putting myself in danger. I was there only child.

I ran out of my room to the kitchen as I smelled my favorite , sausage biscuits and gravy, I smiled as I saw my parents my mom pulling out fresh baked biscuits and my father sitting at the table drinking some juice. " happy birthday Avery" my mom said smiling.

I took a seat across from my father and he frowned at me " hun I know todays a big day but don't be upset if you don't find your mate today a lot of people find their mate in other packs." he said trying to protect me and my mom immediately followed suit "but for goddess sake I hope hes not I want my baby to stay here with us".

"I'm not a baby anymore mom I'm 16 " I said as she set a plate in front of me.

"well do you wanna go for a run to celebrate tonight ?" my dad said "your first shift is a big deal " he was beaming he's been waiting for this for a long time.

"yeah dad I cant wait" I scarfed down my breakfast and said goodbye as I headed to school. I wish I could have just skipped today . I walked into the school and made a beeline to my locker hoping to avoid a certin someone.

I grabbed my chemistry book and shut my locker and jumped when I saw him, one of my main tormentors , Jace . he was the son of the third to the alpha so he felt intittled to say the least. he was always with Nick the furture alpha and his future beta cole.

I began walking away not wanting any of his so called "special attention" he gives me most days. I don't tell anyone about it not even my parents I don't want to cause a problems for us and he has never taken it to far, the females though hate when I smell like him . last week he came up behind me and pulled my hair so hard I thought I was being scalped . just that motion alone made other girls jealous and I couldn't understand why .

I never understood why me , I was 5'8 slim with small curves and sun kissed skin from working in the sun . I had auburn hair and my mothers baby blues eyes some might say I was a stunner but they way the younger pack members treated me I might as well been a hunch back.

I made it to my class without an incident and sat in the front of the class, I found out when I sit in the back it give them more opportunities to mess with me but since we are an intergraited school and most teachers here are human , luckily all mine, they shut the bulling down pretty fast.

I was pretty good at school maintained an A/B average . i would always be the first in the classroom and the first out i didn't want to linger in the hall ways.

After 5th period i was moving so fast i almost missed the most intoxicating scent . i immediately stopped as a voice in side me shouted 'MATE' i was shocked had my luck turned around . i greeted my wolf since this was the first time i had met her, her name was shay but she didn't care for formalities since all she could focus on was following that amazing scent.

I did as she asked turning corner after corner wondering why my mate hasn't found me yet.. unless he was younger than me . i shook the thought I'm sure we are both going in circles trying to find one another.

I pushed past a few people to see a few people leaning against their lockers. 'MATE' shay shouted in my head as a pair of eyes snapped towards me. my stomach dropped and my face paled . no not him. i was staring at Nick the furture alpha of the blue moon pack .

" what are you staring at freak" he said in a harsh tone that made me flinch.

my wolf was confused but i wasn't . He smirked as he approached me with cole and Jace on his heels . " well looks like you finally turned 16" he smiled realizing why i was staring . he new we were mates since he turned 16 last year. "finally i get to do this" the two behind him were giggling like school girls and my wolf was beating against me wanting me to run before he could hurt us.

"I Nick Woods Future alpha of the blue moon pack do hear by reject you Avery Richards as my mate and future luna, now fk off" he said making a scene. most of our pack mates were surrounding us from the prying eyes of humans , that and to laugh as my life was ripped from me.

CH2

i didn't bother attending my last 2 classes , i was in to much pain it was as if my heart was ripped from my chest and was now hollow. my wolf has subsceeded to the back of my mind not comprehending why our mate doesn't want us.. i felt bad she got stuck with me. i didn't hear from her as i walked home dragging my feet as i went from a road to the a path in the woods . luckily i ran out of tears before i reached my house.

Mom and dad were still at work so i could compose myself before i saw them. i couldn't let them know , i didn't want my dad to start a fight with anyone. i walked into my room and curled up on my bed and fell asleep. i dreampt of a field with wild flowers there stood a beautifully red wolf her fur was like fire in the sunlight she had blue eyes , like ice. i approached and she looked at me.

Before i cold touch her i was woken by a familure voice ." Avery Marie Rosemont" my mother came barging into my room. "Do you mind telling me why i got a call from school saying you never showed up to your last two classes." she stood in my door way as i sat up yawning.

" my wolf showed up and became restless, i wasn't sure what to do so i came home" it wasn't a complete lie. my moms eyes lit up "ooo she must want to go on a run , whats her name" my mom went from mad to excited.

i smiled "shay" i got off my bed and went to my mom she hugged me tightly " my baby is growing up. "

i hugged back, though my mothers embrace helped it didn't take away the pain i felt and would feel forever.

"your dad will be home soon and after dinner we can all go for a run" she smiled and left me to go start dinner. i was happy to smell chicken parm , i loved Italian food. my dad walked he was slightly red from being outside . "how was work dad" he grunted as he sat down.

"well we were fixing the chicken coup when Brian bumped the fence door opening letting all the chickens out so we spend an hour catching all of them." my heart warmed a little at brians name, he was one of my few friends he was 19 and a farm hand, very clumsy farm hand. he was only a little taller than me and had blond hair and green eyes.

my mom giggled as my dad shifted his attention to me " so did you find our future son in law" i flinched knowing it was meant as a joke it still hurt. " no not at school " i said lowing my head containing my tears.

i heard shay stiring in my mind as i thought about our so called mate. "its ok one day you will" he said . mom set 3 plates on the table and smiled. we ate as mom told us stories about her work day how the betas daughter got a splinter and he dam near tour up the hospital because she was crying as they pulled it out.

after we were down we walked outside my parents going behind a two trees coming out in wolf form. my both my moms wolf and dads wolf was brown in color, my dad was way bigger than my mom thought. i went behind a tree stripping off my clothes. "ok its time" i whispered to shay and she hummed in excitement. the shift went pretty well fast than i expected.

i only felt slight pain.. but compaired to earlier nothing would hurt quite the same. i walked out from behind the tree and my parents eyes lit up as they ran to me taking in my new scent and nudging me.

'Follow me' my father said as he took off running. my mother was behind him and i followed . my wolf for a brief second forgot about our mate as she ran freely letting the warm autumn air hit her face.

we ended up in a clearing with wild flowers, like my dream.. weird. my parents laid down and watched me as my wolf explored the area rubbing her scent on a few trees. 'Hun don't do that to much, we arnt suppose to claim a lot of stuff' my mother said through mind link.

i rolled my eyes , of course they would go as far as to limit how much we were aloud to mark. my wolf wined wanted to continue spreading her scent. 'sorry shay rules are rules'

'well what are the rules on rejecting your mate' she snapped back

'there are none when it comes to the future alpha, they have no rules' i was being gentle, she was so new to this life she didn't understand how cruel others really were. after a few hors my parents insisted we get back before it got to late, since we all will have to work tomorrow. reluctantly i headed back to our house and shifted back behind the tree with my clothes . i followed behind my parents after i dressed and went to shower.

At least tomorrow i wont have to deal with anyone , my rotation has me working on the farm with my father tomorrow. i took a quick shower and hopped into bed.

-next morning-

I woke up 6 am sharp it was Saturday and when most of the pack slept us omegas were to start working. i got up and got dressed putting on my old jeans and a baggy shirt and work boots. this was my work clothes for any type of dirty work. i decided to put two French braids in my hair going down to braided pig tails. i was ready i smiled in the mirror and walked to the kitchen . my dad handed me a toasted bagel " eat up today we gotta milk the cows and they want all the hey moved from one side of the barn to the other ." i smiled and quickly ate my breakfast.

we both walked out the front door being quiet since mom was still sleeping, she didn't have t work till 9 were as me and dad had to be in at 7. we began to get into my dads work truck when trisha one of the cooks came up "hey avery we need you in the kitchen today for breakfast, laura got burnt yesterday and cant cook." my face paled but i noded giving my father a weak smile. "sorry dad duty calls" he patted my back. "don't give anyone food poisoning." he laughed and drove off.

i followed behind Trisha to the pack house, she was an omega , around 40 her mate died on a rouge attack 8 years ago, she was the one who assigned they teen omegas there temporary jobs and perminant jobs as well.

when we got to the pack house she instructed me that i was to cook the bacon as we walked to the kitchen. she handed me an apron and eyed my outfit "keep that on" she said before she left me to prep for breakfast.

CH 3

I began cooking the bacon on a electric griddle as soon as it turned 0800. i placed a pan under the hole to catch all the hot grease. i had 10 pounds of bacon to my right and i was cooking 20 at a time. it took a lot to feed some wolves. there were about 100 or so people who ate breakfast here . I'm glad i put my headphones in my pocket before i left, i quickly plugged them into my phone and turned my music on shuffle.

music always made things better, maybe people will ignore me if i cant hear them. Since you've been gone was playing by Kelly Clarkson and i was smiling swaying my hips slightly as i turned over the bacon. i was sneaking a piece here in there , i was in my zone . as much as i liked working on the farm i loved cooking with my mother learning her recipes.

There was 4 other omegas in the kitchen preparing breakfast one on eggs another on potatoes and the third setting out the pastries and fruit. after about 30 minutes and 4 packs of bacon piled up people slowly started coming to eat. some smiled at me as they grabbed some bacon others ignored me.

i was humming as a new song started it was maybe by Teyana Taylor. i loved all genres of music , this one always made me want to dance. i was having a pretty good morning until someone came up behind me pulling my head phones out . i could tell it was Jace based off his scent. "mmm you like how my morning wood feels" he whispered in my ear pinning me to the counter rubbing his boner against my ass. i said nothing hoping his harassment would stop soon.

"Nick said he didn't want you and that you were fair game, which means we can have ourselves a little fun" his hips were pushing mine into the counter his hands were holding mine in place.

i closed my eyes trying to calm my wolf, she wanted to claw his face off. as much as i would like that i could never. "Pathetic" another voice said. i looked up to see Nick standing across from me.

"she really is , we could do what ever we want to her and she doesn't even put up a fight." said Jace from behind me. to prove his point he lifted my hand and placed my finger tips on the hot griddle . i whimpered in pain as my finger tips were burnt. he let go when he was satisfied . jace laughed as he let go of me backing up walking around the counter. " This is why i reject you avery, Because your pathetic." nick walked away with Jace behind him.

My wolf was crying From her second rejection, the sting in my chest came back and it felt like i couldn't breathe . i lowered my head not wanting anyone to see my tears. the pain from my hand didn't compare to the pain in my chest. The worst part was no one would stand up for me, the other omegas ignored my abuse as well as the other pack members eating , they could have easily stepped in but then again i wasn't that important .

breakfast went on till 10 then we immediately started prepping for lunch making over a hundred sandwiches , i was assigned to take out the trash from breakfast, which was 5 very full bags while the others finish setting up lunch. i carried two bags out the back of the kitchens to the trash cans on the side of the pack house. it was a beautiful day i wish i was working with my dad. i lifted the lid and set the bags in wiping some sweat off my four head. my finger tips didn't hurt so bad anymore my wolf genes aloud me to heal fast by the time lunch is over it should be healed completely.

I continued till i was on my last bag of trash i secured the trash lid after i put my last bag in it. i turned around and was greeted to a soccer ball to the face. i stumbled back into the trash can knocking them over. i was seeing stars for a moment as 3 shirtless dudes walked up laughing " told you i could hit her from a 15 yards away" Felix said . Along with felix was cole the betas son and a newly transformed wolf brian. i could feel blood gushing from my nose knowing full well it was broken, i know i would have a black eye for the rest of the day.

Brian had a flash of concern on his face " that looks kinda bad" he began to help me up as Felix swatted his hand away from mine causing me to stumble a little ." leave her she fits in with the rest of the trash." the all walked away leaving me there." i held my nose as the pain caused my eyes to burn with tears, my right eye was swelling shut which made it hard to see. i hated it here if it weren't for my parents i would leave, though i bet they treat omegas like this in ever pack. i walked back into the kitchen were Trisha was standing looking at me

"what the hel happened to you" she had a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"i wasn't paying attention and got hit with a soccer ball" it wasn't a lie i just didn't mention the part were it was intentional.

"go get cleaned up and change you smell like trash" she was displeased with me, but then again who isn't. i walked to bathroom down stairs , i was lucky they always kept clothing everywhere here , only problem was it wasn't my style. instead of the female low cut V-neck i grabbed the large grey shirt meant for a male i tucked it into the jean shorts i found since the male pants would have slipped off me. i kept my combat boots on. i looked in the mirror as i washed my hands . my nosed was slightly ascue and my eye was swollen shut.

i reset my nose stuffing some toilet paper in them. sadly this wasn't the first broken nose ive suffered at the hands of this pack. i washed my face as well to get some dried blood off. was i was satisfied i walked out of the bathroom and to the kitchen were the others were handing out sandwiches.

The rest of the day went by with no incidents by the time dinner was over the rest of the girls ive been working with all day were raving about a party at the local supernatural bar todds. it was named after the owner the bouncer made sure no humans got in, mostly just wolves and a few brave vampires.

"i got this new red dress that shows off the girls, hopefully i get lucky " one smile . "yeah good luck by the time we get done cleaning up it will already be so late. " another said wiping a counter.

"hmm Avery, since you spend a lot of time in the bathroom today you have to do the dishes and finish cleaning" i looked at sarah the one who suggested i do clean up by myself.

then paula piped up " yeah it only make since especially since you arnt going out tonight right?" i sighed not wanting to make them hate me more "sure" i said disappointed. they squeeled and paula even hugged me as they ran out. i smiled a little that was the first hug ive gotten from someone other than my parents. maybe i had a chance to make some friends. i walked to the back room where our deep sink was with our dirty dishes from the day and my jaw dropped. there were so many it would take me all night before i finished.

"better get started" shay wined ' i wanted to run tonight. 'we can but after' i reassured her.

i continued washing the dishes until there were none left and my hands were pruny from the hot water, i looked at my watch as saw it was 9 pm luckily i texted my parents earlier telling them id be home late. my phone died about 30 minutes ago so i couldn't tell them i was going for a run so i just decided to head home first. i walked out of the back door to the outside and i took a deep breath of the night air. it was beautiful tonight the stars were out and some fire flies lit up the surrounding area.

I walked around the side of the pack house to a trail that led me home, luckily we were a quick 10 minute walk from the pack house. paused before i hit the trail because i felt an uneasy sensation flow through me. sniffing the air i could smell blood coming from the woods that surrounded us and i immediately became concerned. 'shay be on guard' she grunted wanting a fight after today.

'ROUGES' i heard a pack member shout through mind link, he warned the whole pack before the connection was severed meaning he was dead. i heard snarls and fighting all around , they had already made it to the pack house, they .must of snuck up on us. i ran back to the back door of the kitchen when i stumbled upon a man running off with a little girl, from his scent he was rouge . i growled but another wolf tackled the man avoiding the child. i froze unable to move as i watched the man shift fighting with the wolf. they fought until the rouge was dead. i saw the other wolf shift into the betas wife jen and she crawled to the little girl, the i realized it was there daughter. i immediately ran over to see jen covered in wounds . Grace , her 4 daughter was sobbing over her moms body as she slowly became unconscious.

"grace" i said grabbing her attention . she looked at me with puffy eyes "m-mommy"

"shhh i know" i took off my shirt putting it to a gash on her side " your mom will be fine but i need you to be a big girl now and help your mommy, can you do that." she nodded wiping her nose. "hold this here put as must presser on it as your can. " i smiled assessing the other wounds. her arm looked fractured from the inside and she had cuts everywhere. the gash on her side was causing her to loose a lot of blood.

A sudden growl caught me by surprise as shay said 'rouge' i turned to see a large black wolf behind me walking slowly towards us. 'shay we need to fight we can outrun him' i felt her smile as we shifted . i mind linked my mom as i shifted.

'mom the betas wife is seriously injured shes outside with grace by the kitchen entrance.... theres a rouge here ill do my best to protect them.' i heard my mom cry for me to run but i severed the mind link not wanting it to distract me.

i stood in front of jen and grace refusing to move . He growled as blood dripped from his jaw. he lunged as me and i followed suit but aimed lower hitting his stomach making us fall back and roll away. he snapped at me grabbing ahold of my leg. i ignored the pain and bit his ear . he let go of me and backed up shaking his head. i Growled a low menacing growl that caused me to shiver. thank god my dad has been training me. the wolf lunged at me aiming for my neck but i moved out of the way just in time. but he didn't stop to come back at me he continued moving towards jen and grace. my eye widened and i took off after him tackling him from behind . i had him pinned underneath me and in one swoop i bit his throat and ripped it out. i heard him gargle blood just before he died.

i spit out his throat and limped towards grace who was looking at me in fear. i shifted back now naked. "its ok grace i wont hurt you.' i felt jens chest she barely had a pulse and she was cold as death. '"grace I'm going to shift to keep you mom warm until help comes keep holding her side ok." she nodded . i shifted and laid against jen letting my warmth envelop her. soon after a howl could be heard from the alpha claiming our victory.

i growled as 4 people ran up to us with a stretcher i realized it was people who worked with my mom. following them was the beta and his son Cole. i immediately backed away allowing the nursed to put her on the stretcher. Grace started crying reaching out to her dad "d-daddy". he picked her up and cole helped carry his mom to the hospital. they hadn't noticed me there as they left. i began walking only to be stopped by a unbearable pain in my leg remembering how the rouge had bit me. i looked back and saw my leg drenched in blood. 'shay we need to go find mom.
